A mind-body-and-hair-blowing theatrical spectacle for the entire family!

Creator and artistic director Ilan Azriel shares the inspiration behind his new show:
"It all began during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2019. The world as I knew it was changing. All performances and events were canceled, and I, someone who thrives on human connection and live audience interaction, suddenly found myself in uncharted territory. As I struggled to find a way to create and engage again, I was struck by the overwhelming amount of plastic bags from food deliveries, masks, and other disposable materials. While these items were important for people’s health, I realized they were choking our planet as plastic and nylon bags were piling up at an alarming rate.

Once the initial shock of the pandemic settled, I found my creative spark again. I live in a shared building, so I asked my neighbors to collect their  plastic bags for me instead of tossing them away. I started sewing them into  giant animals. Once I inflated them and used a household fan to give them life and movement – the creative potential became crystal clear! Furthermore I began to imagined a hero who could come to the rescue—someone who would save the planet and the endangered creatures from the damage caused by excessive plastic consumption. This was the moment Atmosphere show was born."

Ilan Azriel - Creator and Artistic Director

Ilan Azriel began his career as a dancer at the Inbal Dance Theater and the kibbutz dance troupe. In 2003, he created the international show "Aluminum," which premiered at the Israel Festival in Jerusalem and quickly captured the audience and critics' attention as the promising show of the year, earning Azriel a place among the top 100 cultural influencers of the year. Since then, "Aluminum" has captured the hearts of over a million viewers worldwide and has performed on prestigious stages in Europe, South America, and toured Broadway theaters across the United States. In 2015, Azriel, in collaboration with the "Aluminum" group and the Madatech Science Museum in Haifa, created the exhibition "TubiX" - the secret transitions of life, which also enjoyed great success among visitors. Later, Azriel added "Aluminum at the Museum" to his repertoire - an engaging show for the whole family. In recent years, Azriel has conducted interactive performance workshops for children ("Alumnic" and "Spirit Man") and performance encounters with adults ("Hyperactive"), and the interaction with the audience - especially with children - has sparked many ideas for his new show – ATMOSPHERE.
